The Saddle / Your trust
Privacy notice
Updated 14 October 2026
Who is responsible
The Saddle is operated by Scrien Productions, which is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. Contact us at thesaddleshow@gmail.com for privacy questions, rights requests or complaints. This notice covers visitors to thesaddle.uk and The Saddle Briefing signup and management service.
What we collect
If you join The Saddle Briefing, we collect your email address, the time of signup, the page you joined from and a record of the consent wording you agreed to. We store a hashed token for your private removal link and operational delivery status fields. Our hosting providers may process IP addresses, browser and device details, requested URLs and security logs when serving the website. If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. Please do not send sensitive personal information unless we specifically request it.
Why we use it
We use consent to send the show announcements and The Saddle Briefing you request. Separately, optional Wix analytics runs only if you accept it in our cookie choices. It may process page views, navigation events and browser/device information to measure how the website is used. Joining is optional; browsing does not require a subscription. We use legitimate interests to respond to enquiries, keep the website and signup service secure, prevent misuse and maintain records needed to administer requests. Those interests are running a reliable site and communicating with people who contact us. Where applicable, we use legal obligation to comply with data protection requests and other legal duties. We do not use signup data for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
Your marketing choice
You have the right to object to direct marketing at any time. You can withdraw consent using the private management link shown after signup, or email thesaddleshow@gmail.com with “Unsubscribe” in the subject. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing. The current launch form saves a signup; it does not send an automatic welcome email. Signup does not give permission for unrelated brands to market to you.
Who receives information
Wix serves this website. The signup service runs separately on OpenAI Sites using Cloudflare hosting and database infrastructure. Authorised Scrien personnel may access signup records to administer the Briefing and privacy requests. If you contact us by email, our email provider processes that correspondence. Service providers receive information needed to provide hosting, storage, security or email services. We may disclose information where legally required or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We do not sell the signup list.
International processing
Our service providers use international infrastructure, so information may be processed outside the UK, including in the United States and other locations used by their subprocessors. Wix publishes a data processing agreement covering visitor data and international transfers. Appropriate UK transfer safeguards, such as adequacy regulations or contractual clauses with the UK Addendum, are required where applicable. Contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your data. Links to provider information appear below; they do not replace our responsibility for your information.
How long we keep it
We keep your active signup while you remain subscribed and the Briefing is operating. Using your private removal link deletes the signup and its consent record from the active website database. Provider backups and security logs follow the provider’s retention cycles and may not disappear immediately. We keep enquiry and complaint correspondence only for as long as needed to resolve it, administer any follow-up and meet applicable legal requirements. If a dispute requires evidence, we retain the relevant records for the period necessary to address that dispute. Contact us to request deletion or ask about a particular record.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict its use, receive a portable copy, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can always object to direct marketing. Email thesaddleshow@gmail.com; we may ask for proportionate information to verify your identity. We normally respond to rights requests within one month, subject to lawful extensions or exceptions.
Privacy complaints
To raise a complaint about our use of personal information, email thesaddleshow@gmail.com with “Privacy complaint” in the subject and explain your concern. We will acknowledge it within 30 days, investigate it appropriately and communicate the outcome without undue delay. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or call 0303 123 1113.
Contact the ICOChildren and external sites
This site and its newsletter are intended for a general adult audience. We do not ask children to provide personal information. A parent or guardian can contact us about a child’s signup. Following a link to YouTube or another website takes you to a separate service with its own privacy practices. This notice does not cover those services.
Updates
We will update this notice if our data use changes. The date below identifies this edition. A new use requiring consent will need separate consent; changing this notice alone does not provide it.
