Why The Saddle exists

Look beyond
the result.

The real value of a horse is revealed by the decisions people make for it—not just by its price or its performance.

Our point of view

Follow the horse.
See the whole story.

The Saddle is being built to cover the equine world through real decisions: in stables, on the gallops, in ownership and through a horse’s changing life.

Our first season begins around racing. The perspective travels further—to training, livery, second careers and the people whose work keeps every horse’s world moving.

An editorial commitment

Trust is in the detail.

We’ll show what is documented, what a participant reports and what is an estimate. We’ll make the date and limits of an outcome clear, and return when a story changes.

The people closest to a horse bring different knowledge and responsibilities. Relevant specialists will explain decisions in their own area. The horse’s needs remain at the centre.

When a story has a commercial partner, that relationship will be disclosed. Partnership does not buy the conclusion.
